'Roar of the Rings' - Women's Draw 1

December 6, 2009

So, the 'Roar of the Rings' finally gets underway today. I've been looking forward to this for quite awhile! Before each draw, I'll hopefully be posting a little preview of it, just highlighting the impact of each game. With everyone at (0-0), the first one a little thin...hopefully they'll be more substantial as we move through this.

Women’s Draw 1 – 3:00 PM

Webster (0-0) v. Kleibrink (0-0)

This is a tricky game for Kliebrink, who looks to repeat this time around. A loss here would be devastating for Kliebrink, with tougher matchups to come later in the week. If Webster takes this one, it could be an indication that she’s still on a roll from the ‘Road’, making her very dangerous.

Jones (0-0) v. Holland (0-0)
Jones will look to get off to a good start here, and really can’t afford to lose to a team like Holland if she plans on being in the playoffs.  For her part, knocking off Jones would greatly improve Holland’s chances of making something of the week.

Bernard (0-0) v. McCarville (0-0)
Tough one to handicap here…two pretty equal teams. Probably a little more pressure on Bernard here, tripping up against McCarville would leave fewer strikes for the Jones, Kliebrink and Scott matchups.

Scott (0-0) v. Lawton (0-0)
It will be interesting to see what Kelly Scott team shows up…if she’s on her game she should take Lawton, but if anything less than her  ‘A-Game’ is there, Lawton will run right over her.  This is a big one for both teams, the kind of W you need to have in your back pocket to make the playoffs
