Canada's Flag Bearer: Who Will It Be?

This Friday, Canada will announce who the Flag-Bearer will be for the Vancouver 2010 Opening Ceremonies. Having the chance to carry the flag for any Opening Ceremonies is a huge honour; but its even more special at a Home Olympics.

Nothing is for sure, but its probably the worst kept-secret in the country right now that Clara Hughes is expected to get the nod. The other ‘major’ contenders all have hits against them (IE Jenn Heil has her event the next day, Women’s Hockey getting the nod in 2006 probably rules out Haley Wickenheiser, Cindy Klassen carried the flag at the 2006 Closing Ceremonies).

But perhaps the biggest hint of all…the location for the announcement is Richmond City Hall. Pretty good chance that means it’s a Long-Track Speed Skater.
