Free Vancouver 2010 Journal/Notebook

First put out there by Journeyto2010, VANOC is currently offering up a free personalized journal to just about anyone who signs up for one (No Aussies, no Palestine). I like free things, so count me in!

You can reserve now, and apparently VANOC will forward shipping details on February 1st. That doesn’t give it a lot of time to arrive prior to the games, but I imagine that it still would. Not too many details on how its personalized, or how this all works, but I guess we’ll just have to find out. There doesn’t seem to be any catch…at this point anyways…

Official Souvenir Program

For Christmas, Scott also received the Vancouver 2010 Official Souvenir Program. It's ok, there isn't as much of the info that I had expected in it (venue info, sport info), it's a lot of articles and advertising like you would find in a regular magazine. Considering it's $18 (without shipping and handling) I was shocked at the amount of advertisements.

All in all, I give it: ✯✯/✯✯✯✯✯.

More Olympic Gear!

Christmas has come and gone and left Scott and I with a bunch of Olympic gear!!

Scott received: a Canada scarf, a CTV "Believe" Shirt

I received: a Canada scarf, a Canada toque, a zip up Vancouver jacket, an Olympic Bear, a Figure Skate keychain and best of all, my parents gave me the funds for the flights and the train tickets! (thank you Mom and Dad!)

I look a little excited, don't I? :) This picture was taken with Scott's new camera for the games, we're testing it out beforehand to learn the settings.

In other Olympic news, Scott was sent an email from our hotel in Whistler today! Within this email, there's information about where to go while we're there and what to do, it's really interesting and getting us hyped up!

So exciting! I can't wait!! :)

Torch Relay Mittens

According to a couple of stories out there, the Red Torch Bearer Mittens have quickly become the hot-ticket item of the games.

Set up with benefits going to the Canadian Olympic Foundation, it`s getting to the point that stores can’t keep them on the shelves. When an order does come in, reports say that they’re all sold out within an hour. Crayzness!

According to Castanet.net, “HBC has reportedly sold more than half a million mitts across Canada, and a million more are set to hit store shelves over the next two weeks.``

That means that approximately one in every 60 Canadians has a pair right now, and if those new million sell, that`ll drop to about 1 in 20.
