USA Team Uniforms

November 4, 2009

The USA has apparently unveiled their uniforms for the Games. I gotta say that I'm 100% not a fan....looks like they've just come in off the yacht for tea......

Ugggg...

Oh....I just found a full-body shot.....the white pants and boots? BRUTAL...

At least the medal ceremony jackets (left) aren't horrible.....but wow....just wow on those Opening Ceremony uniforms (centre)

Ralph Lauren designed these beautiful, high-fashion uniforms, mimicking a traditional 1930's Olympic look. And - they will be an easy sell in Polo stores, which is part of the appeal.

Just because something is put out there by a designer label, and just because something is 'high-fashion'....well...it doesn't necessarily make it any good.

I think something a little more accessable, something you could actually wear every day might have been the way to go here...

Because we all go to the Olympics every day, right?

Scott Fraser November 4, 2009 at 12:24 PM

No, but when we talk about things being an 'easy sell in Polo Stores', we are in fact talking about every day....

Everyone is entitled to their opinion...and mine is the OC/CC Ceremony uniforms are baaaaaaaaaad.

Don't mind the medal ceremony ones at all however.

You're probably right. This will probably put Polo out of business. Mr. Lauren clearly doesn't know what he's doing in terms of the fashion industry.

"how dare you have an opinion that differs from mine!"

Are the quotes supposed to be Scott's or mine? Because I had the differing opinion. I'm not upset that Scott insulted the uniforms. I merely annoyed that he is commenting on fashion... something that he clearly knows nothing about. I've met Scott, I've seen how he dresses... trust me, he's in no way, shape, or form in a proper position to comment on fashion.

Since you know Scott, why are you posting Anonymously??

Because filling out an account to post on this blog seems pointless to me. I'm not _that_ interested in what you guys have to say about your trip to the Olympics. Just came across it and wanted to point out a "differing opinion". I guess I'm not allowed to do that here.

Yah...you can just hit 'Name' when posting...you don't have to sign up for anything....

Either way, just thought it would be appropriate for someone to sign their name if things were going to devolve into personal attacks. Anyways, its no big deal....
